Why Most Gallery Walls Fail

Most people hang frames at random heights with even spacing. The result looks like a high school art project. Designers use 3 specific templates that always work.

Template 1: The Grid
3x3 or 4x4 grid, equal spacing, all frames the same color. Clean, modern, easiest to execute.
Template 2: The Salon
Floor-to-ceiling, tight spacing, mixed frame sizes. Old-world European look. Start from a central anchor piece and build outward symmetrically.
Template 3: The Linear
All frames at the same height, evenly spaced, in a single row. Perfect for hallways or above a sofa.
The Tools
- Painters tape (for floor layout)
- Laser level ($25)
- Paper templates cut to frame size
- Command strips or picture hooks
